Back in its heydey the QE2 sailed around the world. And now, at its base in Dubai, it’s launching a world tour with a difference. The famous ocean liner has launched a “Culinary World Cruise Series” so you can hop aboard and enjoy some tasty dishes.
The Queen Elizabeth 2’s dining deck The Lido is setting up a weekly ‘Culinary World Cruise Series’, which includes four new themed nights that will take guests from India and Asia, to the Middle East and the Mediterranean.
Bringing a weekly changing buffet from different countries around the globe, guests can kick off their week with ‘Delhi Delights’ for the QE2’s Indian nights every Sunday. From 7pm until 11pm, The Lido will serve up dishes from Delhi to Kerala, starting with fresh Indian salads, breads and a smoking chat station, along with curries featuring chicken tikka trio’s, tandoori vegetables and murg masaka.
There’s also gulab jamun, saffron rice kheer and ras malai for dessert. This Indian nights are priced at Dhs125 per person, Dhs65 for kids aged below 12 and free for little ones aged four and below.
Looking for more eastern Asian delights? For the same price every Wednesday from 7pm until 11pm, guests can look forward to Asian nights, delivering dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Korea, Singapore, China, Japan, Indonesia and beyond.
Expect everything from Singapore chili crab, beef pandang, pad Thai and live stations serving Peking duck, dim sum and sushi. The QE2 will also have an Arabesque foodie night every Thursday for Dhs135. The Arabian nights will include Middle Eastern classics from across the region, with hot and cold mezze, freshly baked bread, grills, ouzi, harrees, tharead and sweet Arabic desserts.
Finally, voyage through the Mediterranean, from Spain, Italy and Greece to the Balkans. Every Friday for Dhs155, guests can tuck into starters such as pickled octopus, tzatziki and couscous, with live stations offering up paella, pasta, grilled meats and more.
